I have had my nuvi 2455LMT with an analog receiver for about 9 months now and have found the reliability of the traffic updates to be very spotty, almost untrustworthy. One time, I spent 4 hours in heavy traffic driving from Anaheim, CA to Northridge, CA and the device showed no traffic the entire trip (the traffic signal strength was pretty good for most of the way).
Would forking over the $60 for a digital receiver improve the reliability of the traffic updates?
