Hi forum,
New since this morning. I have a Navigator IV, which is modified Zumo GPS that integrates with a BMW motorcyle.
I downloaded some POI files and installed them using Garmin POI Loader ( OSX ), using the excellent instructions found on this forum.
Where To?>Extras>Custom POIs>Total_Petrol-BE>
Brings me to a list of petrol stations, and I can see the lat and lon are correct, but the GPS says that they are +3000 kilometers away and refuses to navigate me there.
View Map> shows my correct location ( at home ). I even tried using the GPS simulator mode, but that does not solve the problem.
Tools>Where Am I>> shows the correct location as well.
I picked out one of the coordinates, googled them, and they seem correct and nearby.
The POI uploader gives a data format error message after each POI file in my upload directory, the error being on the last line of the XML file. The error message says the already read lines will be OK, just not the rest. Duh. It continues and the says the upload finished succesfully.
Maybe this has nothing to do with it, but I'm just mentioning it.
Getting a little desperate here. Is this another bug in my GPS?
Same here: a single poorly formated CSV line...
Open your file with any listed POI Tool: http://www.gps-data-team.com/convert.php and see if all looks good, or simply create a test file with some local POIs and see how it works...

I used the GPX files. The POI uploader has some trouble at the end of the each file. I think it has to do with the format of the file - which seems ok to me. Probably this is just a bug in the POI uploader app, and I should try doing the same thing from Windows.
Anyway thanks for your reply. But my original problem still remains, any help is greatly appreciated.
POI coordinates more then 3000 kilometers away?
