I am new to this site. I have recently bought my second Garmin nuvi system - 1450T. My previous model 1390 had a .gpi file extension on POI files. This site lists various Garmin file types but none are shown as .gpi. What files do I download?

select the Garmin upload (Direct )option that way you wont have to bother as the Garmin site will do it for you.
Caution is advised when appending a large group of waypoints. POI Loader works better for large POI collections: https://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/topic/33.html
