I have recently updated my nuvi with lifetime European maps. After successful update the unit refused to operate properly, when switched on it would load maps and then switch itself off. To correct this problem, after having tried everything else, I deleted all "user data" by following the method described in the user manual, this solved the problem. The "reset" procedure did not have any effect. As this way of solving this particular problem is not envisaged in the user manual, other owners of a nuvi unit may find the above useful.
