Garmin/Kenwood TourGuides, POIs visible off road/route
Hi good people,
I want to see POIs within, say, 5km radius, regardless of their being on the road I'm on or the route I've planned. As you undoubtedly know, newer Garmins, including my Kenwood DNX9260BT, don't display the internal, pre-loaded POIs in the rolling map, and only show self-loaded POIs if they are denoted as being warnings and then only if they are on the current road or route. *Unless* they are TourGuides. Couldn't you code your petrol stations, McDonalds, Burger Kings, etc. as Garmin "[whatever]_TourGuide.gpx"s, or do you have any other idea for achieving the POI visibility I'm after on my or any Garmin device? Do you know whether the "TourGuide" function is even possible on the Kenwood devices with Garmin modules in them?
