Is there any way that I can combine custom poi with the factory furnished poi? This would make ot more convenient looking in 1 file rather than 2 or more.

This site has a tool called POI Manager & it'll quite happily load your current (factory) POI file & it has the option to merge other POI files as well so you'll end up with one combined file when done.
