Should be aware that this unit easily becomes extremely hot under sunshine.

This unit work so well. I able to get custom icon show on map, but can not get voice alert working, even use WAV file. any one can help.

Have you tried the MP3 files yet ? They may work for you.

Wav files work with the 3790T. Make sure that the related files (eg .csv files) are named exactly the same but for the file type.

I really love the resolution of the screen on the 3790 as well as voice commands, traffic, junction view and the overall size.

But, I spent a lot of money to upgrade to the 3790LMT from a 750. It never occurred to me that some functions I took for granted on the 750 would not be available on this newer device—such as importing routes from MapQuest or GoogleMaps.

Also, for these higher resolution models, the POI bitmaps should be larger so that they appear on the map without zooming in to 200 metres or less.

Overall though, I'm quite happy with 3790LMT.

You wonder why, though, at the $350 canadian paid, Garmin can't provide a decent protective cover for the delicate screen!

Hello:

I would like to clarify from which software version does it nüvi 3790T is compatible with audio files in mp3 or wav.

I've tried every way imaginable in my nüvi 3790T and I have not been able to get it to work.

It is very important to me that if you've managed to install the mp3 files or wav that work, they explain this as thoroughly as possible to do this and make them work.

Make sure you put SOX.exe in the PoiLoader root directory then you can use wave files with 3790.

3790LMT AFTER 2 MONTHS

It worked great at first. Traffic stopped working and I am getting a cable from factory. Now all of a sudden, address pop up and "go" appears. Don't matter if on route or just driving. Otherwise great unit. I like the Bluetooth and voice command.

I've had this unit since May 2011 and i love it. Mine was also an upgrade from a 750 and i'm very happy with it... except for the random rebooting which started about a month ago.

Also it sometimes completely freezes... and the only way to get it to do anything is to hold the power button down until it turns off.. sometimes takes ages....

in desperation (one morning it froze 4 times in 30 minutes) i reset the unit to defaults.. and now it works fine again.. apart from the random reboots..

does anyone else have this issue and may be able to shed some light on why?
