Is their any way to add or amend the maps on a Tom Tom without having to buy a new map?

The Map Share function is the only way, however Tomtom will allow you to switch between the maps when you need them

There is no option to add non-existing road - you have to buy updated map (or download it for free if you're within "Latest Map Guarantee" period)

mapshare only allows you to change speeds, turn restrictions, etc.

Buying a new map is the only way to get new roads. Try the updare service
