I have a Garmin 1490 and the help file says to see the satellite signals, just touch the signal strength bars.
When I do this, nothing happens.
Is there a trick to get to the satellites?

On my nuvi 760, it's not a momentary touch. You need to touch the signal strength bars for a few seconds (3+).

I have the 1490 too. Yes, you just press and hold the satellite signal strength icon for about 3 seconds, you will then see the signals and accuracy information. A very nice informative screen.

I just tried it on my 1390T and it also works as described in the previous post. You do need to press the satellite icon for a couple of seconds. Thanks for pointing this out - interesting display.

I had this feature on a Garmin 1390 but thought it wasn't available on the 1490T. Was that supposed to be apparent in the manual? Didn't see it. it's good news..

Wow learning new things every time reading the forum. Wondering how those circles and satellites are relative to where you are?

This is available on all models of the Nuvi series, as explained in the manual.

In the main menu press and hold the the signal strength bars until the satellites are displayed unlike the other icons there is no beep indicating you are pressing the right spot which can be a little confusing
hope this helps others
