Nuvi 300 alert options

Hello to all and and a big thanks to the contributors/owners of this awesome site!

I am hesitant to ask questions that might be ridiculously obvious, but rather than trial and error, I thought it might be easier to ask anyway - Smile

I ride a motorcycle and use my Nuvi 300 with an attached earpiece for London navigation.

I have downloaded and installed the "All" UK Speed Cameras files and have a few questions if someone has the time to answer (I will be searching around the threads in the meantime).

1. Am I correct in only downloading the UK Speed Cameras files (ie. they include the Red-Light and Speed, Monitron, Specs etc cameras)?

2. If I add the UK Fuel/Petrol Stations files, will I get audible alerts every time I am near one of these Fuel stops as well (I would prefer to only be audibly pinged when approaching safety points and as far as I can tell the Nuvi 300 only has an option to "Alert" for Garmin Safety Cameras and/or Custom POI's).

3. I will be finding this out for myself on the way home this evening, but having downloaded the MP3 file for the Garmin Speed Camera alert, will this replace the default "PING" that the Nuvi 300 uses for audible alerts?

4. Having found a thread where one of the Forum Moderators (Mark?) uploaded 3/4 separate Garmin Camera Alert MP3's - one for each type of camera as such - does anyone know if/how this works for a Nuvi 300 and how/where to modify for individual sounds etc?

5. Does the UK (inside the M25 - Greater London region) have Red-Light Speed cameras? --- Embarassed

--- I have ever only been aware of standard speed cameras and the newer average speed cameras etc?

Yes, that is the correct download, and the only speed camera file you need

The default is no alerts, though you can change that if you do a manual load of the POI using the POI Loader, no recommended though.

The MP3 file will not work on the 300, you need to use the WAV file instead, do a search on how to do it 'cause you need another exe file as well.

Mine works by just downloading the individual WAV files, seems to pick up what it needs, though that might not work for you...
