Apologies if this is posted elsewhere but I cannot find it.

What exactly is the difference between "GARMIN POI GPX" and GARMIN GPX ( proximity altert ......)

Hi
Both GPX and Advanced GPX POI files have same locations.
You can see the difference if you open them with our GPX Editor: http://garmin.gps-data-team.com/extra/

Thanks for that. This is very interesting for me. I have a fair bit of IT knowledge as well as limited programming experience.
I will indeed look into the format of the different files.
