Navman's trick...
You need to purchase optional PC-to-F20 connectivity kit from Navman if tou want to use spare SD card slot for additional maps or POI import capability.
You can add additional points of interest to Navman F20, such as safety cameras, using the optional desktop connectivity kit. Contact your local Navman dealer.
Thanks for that. I have contacted Navman and they said the connectivity kit won't be available until Jan 2007, not too long to wait I suppose, but when I purchased this unit, I was not told about the additional kit one would need purchase nor that there would be a wait until I could do so, I was simply told I was able to?? Any one have any ideas about how much these kits will cost?
One more question though, I have read that getting the data directly from Navman would probably mean that the data would not be all that current, so where would be the best place to purchase this data for the most up to date data and what package should one purchase, just the red light camera info or are there any ideas of the type of data that would be most useful, and if at all possible is ther one complete package that has everything on it, hope my question is not too basic, but I am completely new to the navigation scene as I have only purchased my unit in the past few days,
To load the drivers for the F20, download the Service Pack @ ttp://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/topic/60.html
Install the SP then goto the USB folder- that's where the drivers are! Once the drivers are installed, you can run the SP and the F20's firmware will be updated....good luck.
I just d/l the service pack from the above link, but when I connect my navman to the computer and try to run the update (via a data cable I had for my mobile phone!) i get an error saying it failed...
