Would I be right in thinking that the default sound alert will play for a poi if no talking sound file is loaded with the GPX & BMP? I have loaded some poi with matching wav files which work fine. Before I deleted and reinstalled via poi loader and sox file, I was also getting the default beep as well. Maybe when I manually deleted the Garmin GPI files, I only get the custom poi sounds for the ones installed. Originally had the Garmin sample files also loaded.
Thanks

Yes you are correct if you do not install custom audio you will get the standard beep to alert you of a POI in proximity.

On my old Nuvi 250 it used to come up saying "40km school zone ahead" "redlight camera ahead" 110km speed camera ahead" etc etc in a spoken voice.

Since getting a new nuvi 260 it just beeps. Im pretty sure i downloaded the POI's from here onto my old 250 but i just cant remember if they were CSV, GPX or BMP.

What have i done wrong? I don't want to copy my old ones over as i want updates.

So far ive tried GPX and GPX extended

unusual that ur not hearing any spoken alerts. Make sure that each poi has exact matching GPX ,BMP,WAV files that you load, Also you need to use the Sox.exe file , which needs to be in the POI LOADER directory if you use .wav files. For me the .wav files worked instead of the MP3 files, even though my 1390t supports both types of sound files.
