I have uploaded both gpx and csv files to my nuvi and found that it doubled up on my gps unit. Used poi upload program to clear the poi files and reloaded the gpx files which fixed the double listing in custom poi files.hope this helps.

I've downloaded the CSV file. Does anyone know how to add a unique number to each location?

Hi, I think there is only 1 text argument for all descriptions in a POI file. The chance of a separate number will not happen, You could edit the CSV listing in Excel and add a unique number at the beginning of the description. BUT, why do you want a number?

Phill, to answer your question, yes, the csv files load the same way as gpx files when using PIO loader.
The csv files DO NOT have as much information in them though.

You are right in saying you have only 1 text argument but you can break it up into more than one line

If you include quotes around the name or comment, you can include line breaks in the text.

Something like this

Longitude,Latitude,Someplace,"Unique number
Address 1
Address 2
City , State"

So by editing in POI Editor or Excel and a little excel magic it is possible.

Thanks for the help guys.
I'm not very experienced in this sort of thing so I think I'll just stick with the CSV

I prefer CSV files over GPX files. CSV files are easily editable - you can add or edit info, easily delete duplicate (or similar) listings, or consolidate multiple files into one CSV that can then be imported to your sat unit.

Good luck,
