Post Retreiving tracks from a GPS with broken screen

My Garmin 255W has a broken screen and I would like to retreive my tracks and either add to Google earth or to similar program. As I cant access screen I have copied all files to a PC and have purchased a new 255W. Can I copy old files to new GPS and which ones or can I somehow join the old tracks to the new tracks I have since buying new gps

I would suggest to connect it and use MapSource to 'see' if there is still 'something' left on the unit then save it and upload to the next one.
