I am planning on buying a TomTom 730. I have Nextel phone service. I would like to be able to use the handsfree phone feature. TomTom has 3 compatible phone listed Motorola I605, I870, I880 None of those phones are available. Will any other phones work? All I'm interested in is handsfree phone calls.
Thanks
I am using the Blackberry 8330. It connects and makes/receives handsfree phone calls. I am not using it in the data mode or to send/receive messages or data to my GO 730.
Nokia 6120 has been around for a while but its a reliable phone and very popular, it connects to tom tom fast and sends and receives calls effortlessly.
It won't allow SMS, which I find a real bummer. I reckon Tomtom have been slack with their additions for phone compatibility because the 6120 has been one of Nokias most popular phones and remains so.
I used an HTC touch with my go 720 and also found the the only glitch is that the speaker is not nearly loud enough. I don't think it matters what phone you use.
I would think that it shouldn't matter what phone you use because it tom tom uses Bluetooth to connect with it so as long it has Bluetooth and it can support the make and talk feature of Bluetooth you should be fine
