Post TT530 Freezes when connecting with computer

Please help me.
I have downloaded TT Home and TThome2 but whenever I tap the yes button on "Connect to computer" the 530 just shuts down completely. I have to wait for ages for it to be able to restart, even using the reset button doesn't seem to help. Basically am not not able to manage by TT or update. Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks.

You can try uninstalling the new tomtom home you downloaded and then install your original tomtom home from CD. Might work

Does the same thing hapen if you connect it to someone elses PC (That has a TT ?) Assuming you know someone who has a TT.
