What is the best POI download format to download for the nuvi765
What is the difference between formats CSV and GPX and whats better.
Whats the extended info in the "Custom POI with extended info"
I understand that I need the BMP and MP3 files as well
Any extra info for his unit would be appreciated.

For the 765 use the gpx files and the mp3 files.
The extended gpx file has more info within it. i.e. addresses / phone numbers etc.
Also uses more memory storage, but don't think that will be a problem as I have 2 gig + in music stored as well as 45,000+ POI's installed in the standard memory with the unit.

I have a 885T. I did not know weather to download the MP3/WAV (which one also) and the GPX or just the WAV/MP3?

I think that I figured out that the WAV file is simply the announcement that there is an upcomming notice. How about the GPX vs POI. Is the WAV file only for POI. Can you still use the GPX and the POI or am I way off base.

The mp3/wav file is just an announcement to repalce the standard alerts. It is just a voice saying "warning speed camera ahead"

The alert behaviour on my 760 seems to indicate that the main difference between using the standard alerts and the mp3 file is:
If the poi file includes a speed for the camera and you are going above that speed:
You only get the one warning with the mp3 file whereas you will get multiple warnings if you are using one of the standard alerts.

I find that if I use both files then I'm alerted twice. I stick with the Garmin GPX files.

Have a Nuvi 265 and will try GPX I think, the address would be handy as a fall-back if the POI coordinates were not quite right.
