Not sure what I, or technology has done, but recently my Nuvi will just not show any POI on the screen. I reloaded everything, speed alerts, bunnings, kfc, etc etc and still nothing will show. The POILoader claims that over 200,000 POI have been loaded, and I have even gone through the steps of a hard reset of the unit.
Unusually, an old custom POI still stays in the list no matter how many times I reset the thing. This is probably important to tell you, I am also using a 2GB Sandisk SD card as well in the unit, just in case that has any bearing on the problem.
Are there any other steps I can take to try and remove the old POI (which I can't find in the POI folder where I import all the others from) and find out why they don't appear on the screen. Not only do the places don't appear (like food outlets, servos, etc) but the speed alerts and school zones don't any more either.
Can't really remember when it started happening to be honest, pretty sure it still worked fine after a Map update (i'm on City Navigator 2008), so can't troubleshoot it so accurate for anyone sorry.

You say The POILoader claims that over 200,000 POI have been loaded, so if it is working then they must have been loaded somewhere, are you downloading them to your card? If so when you reboot the Garmin it should ask if you want to install to the Garmin unit or not, do they appear as custom poi's in the garmin unit, you can tell by connecting the Garmin to the pc via a usb cable, browse to the Garmin poi folder and they should be there,My only thought is that you may have to zoom in on the Garmin map so that they appear maybe you are zoomed out to far

Thank you so much Mick, it was the zooming that did it, one tiny touch of the + and voila. all POI's showed up (including the 20 in one spot due to a shopping centre )
I know this thread is old, but sometimes it's nice to know that things you do have a lasting effect. I just set up my Nuvi 760 as a backup GPS for a Colorado Trail through hike I'm planning. I couldn't get my POI waypoints to display. Turns out after reading this thread that I just wasn't zoomed in enough. Thanks!
