I have a Tome tom 1 and a Google KML file. The kml file works in google and icons are displayed when viewing the file locations in google world.

My tom tom has all european maps including the canary island

I have tried to convert the kml file to ov2 on the Internet and then inserting the file in the "map" folder but viewing this folder this one does not contain the maps they are in there own folder "Western_Europe_1GB " this has a load of files in that look like maps etc. Which one is correct.

Either way I insert the file and the spots are all over the place ie not where they should be and are displayed with a red box a real mess!!

Really sorry but i have been surfing for some time trying to find a walk through for this. Can any one help please as its getting testing and Tom tom might go for a flight soon!

Thanks in advance for any help posted.

Hi I think you need to download the OV2 file, then you may need to download the BMP icon. You can convert your KML files to TomTom's OV2 format with most of these online, easy to use converters: http://www.gps-data-team.com/convert.php

For tomtom you need to download the OV2 file and the BMP image. Drop them into your map folder, then go to manage PIO and you should be able to see it there.

Hope this helps.
