Can you upload Excel files or other Microsoft files into a Garmin 265WT GPS? If so, how do you do this?

Presumably you have created a POI Edit file, or you have your own POI file.
Save it as a csv file.

You need to save it as a CSV and then use the POI uploader which can be downloaded here: https://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/topic/33.html

There are a number of options in Excel to save a CSV file. The standard one will be in a comma delimited format.
Use that one.

Save it as a csv file.

Keep in mind that you file will only use the first 4 fields.
Usually, I use them as follows:
1. Longitude
2. Latitude
3. Name
4. Address and/or Description

It can also useful to keep the name unique, but not mandatory.
Just remember to save it as a "comma delimited" CSV file and yous should be okay.
