Anyone in the UK who bought an S series Navman between November 08 and February 09 received their FREE 2009 map update yet?
That was part of the deal when you bought the Navman SatNav. Supposed to be available June 09.
Hi emailed Navman last weekend 14th June and still haven't had a reply, which leads to a couple of conclusions:
1. they are actually looking in to it and not just trying to fob me off with the standard reply of update via the Smart software.
or
2. they're hoping the problem will go away...
I'm Satisfied with the Navi but the Service is poor
I bought mine end of 2008 because of the free map update and on the web site was ( still is) written the new maps are available end of June.
I hope they know how to use a KALENDAR. I'm quite upset because of that.
Emailled Navman a couple of weeks ago asking when the Map updates will be ready. Had a reply a couple of days later saying they would be ready in a couple of weeks. Had another email off them a couple of days after that, asking for my address, saying they are ready and will be posted shortly. They are on a DVD.
IN OZ my S90I and newer S150 cant seem to work for 20 minutes without rebooting - mutiple calls to the asian call center and still no joy, next time iwill get a garmin or tom tom or in fact any other brand.
Also had an email from Navman saying maps were available and had to fill in online address form for DVD to be sent out... now coming to week two after filling in the form.
Has anybody "invested in the new MY series I am interested to know if they are experiencing the same issue as the previous S series - i.e. the device soft resets when custom POI's are loaded
The interface and consequently the underlying software looks the same....
Well it's been over a month since I received an email asking for my postal address as the maps were now going through their final testing and would be dispatched shortly - one question how shortly is shortly?
Getting fed up with their lack of after care or thought for their customers went and bought a Tomtom XL route Live, using the same teleatlas maps as my S90i however when you connect up to the net it allows you to update your maps to the latest available up to 30 days after the first time you connect up - must say as they are using the same maps as the Navman and they are not as up to date as you would believe. There is still a road near me that has been completed for the last two years which is still being shown as incomplete on my brand new updated Tomtom, so maybe it's not Navman or Tomtom's fault but the fact they are using a company that is slow to up date it's own mapping software may be where the problem lies..
Also just bought the new Mio/Navman 505D for £80 as it uses a different mapping company/software so will try them out to see which is best or even if it has the problem of rebooting like the S90i.
