If you're signed up for "My Garmin" and your unit(s) is(are) registered, the site will tell you when an update is available. I check for updates every month or two - of course I have a variety of maps installed on my 2 units and they aren't all updated at the same time. |

| Posted by johmazz2006 map updates If you subscribe to the lifetime updates, you get 4 updates per year for life of the GPS. Worth paying for, and cheaper than buying new maps each year. |

There must be different map versions for different models. Just checked and said the latest for the 765 Nuvi is 2012.30 |
