| Posted by Addck TomTom won't start up Hi, just wondering if anybody could help, my Tom Tom 710 doesn't get past the tomtom find your way the easy way screen. I have tried reseting, but doesn't make any difference. It also will not turn off from the power button when it gets stuck on this screen? Any help is much appreciated. Cheers |

Then it stuck exactly like you describe. Be interested to find out the solution. Should I just leave it on until the battery runs out then hope it boots up normally? |
| Posted by leoanacam Tom Tom not rebooting My brother in law had the same problem, when he installed tom tom home (in my computer) then we did the reinstalling without the fierewall and everything went ok, and the GPS worked normally again. | Posted by sharyn Same problem with tom tom 910 I purchased two tom tom 910s for my motorcycles of which was not a success at all due to the hard drive failing when accessing when being riden, appears the bumping around and hard drive access at the same time was the cause of the failure. To resolve this failure the reset button had to be used and each time this was done the units came good, Only use them in the car now, have no problems of crashing whilst being used in the car. |
| Posted by Biggkatt restore from backup Use TomTom home to restore your unit from the backup. If it still doesn't work more than likely something is corrupt in the system. |
