| Posted by Oak Tree Garmin Nuvi55 - Memory usage / french voice I have just done an update and have lost the French voice. I've done some investigation with file explorer and there are only 2MB free. The vpm files only exist for Dansk, Deutsch, English and Espagnol i.e. it has run out of memory before F for French (because the vpm files are about 20 MB). 1. Can I select the languages I want using the Garmin Express pc package that does the uploads - I can't see anything? 2. Can the main memory be extended? The existing memory looks like 3.5GB. 3. What happens if a future map update leaves no room for any languages? Am I best not doing any more updates? 4. Could a micro-SD card help? I found it wonderful when I toured around France, Belgium, Luxemboug, Germany and Switzerland last summer. What was nice was to listen to the local language so that the street and place names were pronounced correctly. Please advise |
