| Posted by BraunstonBruce Volvo Sensus POI File Structure I have a large POI file converted to Volvo Sensus GPX format. It shows up on the screen in the car but the locations within it are not available. So basically it doesn't work. The POIs (24000 of them) cover the whole world. If I load another file with a few hundred locations within the UK then that works. This proves the formatting of the GPX file is correct. My questions are 1 Is there a physical limit to the number of POIs you can put on a Sensus system? 2 Can you include POIs which are outside the area of the installed map? Hope some gurus out there can help. :) |

The script assembles the gpx file correctly and as I said, I've used the same script to assemble a file of about 800 pois and that works OK but the 800 were all from the UK. The actual Volvo car is not mine and I'm awaiting the results of trying a file of about 12000 pois. I was just wondering if there is a known physical limit and if locations from outside the area of the map can be included. For instance the 24000 work fine on a Tomtom in ov2 format but on a Sygic system they have to be in separate country files. |

| Posted by BraunstonBruce Volvo Sensus POI Files Structure Well, I'm getting little information from the owner of the Volvo so I decided to break the file into one POI file per country. This should cover the size issues and the location issues, if there are any. If I find anything further I will post again. |
| Posted by BraunstonBruce Volvo Sensus POI Files Structure Found the problem. My fault :oops: A pesky bracket missing from the phone number line! Ran the file through a validator and there it was, little blighter! So I still don't actually know if there is a size limit but I've split the file up into separate countries anyway.
