| Posted by ebu44 TomTom Go Mobile App for Android Forgive me if this should be in the GPS Phones forum - but is anyone using the TomTom Go Mobile App for Android? I have been trying it out - and found it to be quite good - but it has some shortcomings that I am struggling with. The main one is the warnings. I've come to enjoy proper spoken warnings in other Apps (iGo for example) - I like to be told "the speed limit is 60km/hr - check your speed" etc ... but with TomTom I just get "bongs" and have to listen carefully and figure out what they are (and that they might mean I am speeding ... or they might mean there is traffic ... or they might mean there is an accident etc). No doubt I will get used to the bongs over time - but I know from my brief play with a Garmin Drive 60 - that it is possible to replace bongs with spoken warnings on the Garmin, so I was wondering if this same thing can be done with the TomTom Go Mobile App for Android? Is there some kind of tool to grab the spoken warnings and format them so that the Android App will pick them up and use them? Other than the above - the main other shortcomings in the Android App are that you cannot vary the speed alert warning (fixed at 5km/hr ... with no warning until you exceed that) and the speed camera warnings often fire off for all 4 directions at an intersection ... even when there is only 1 camera in 1 direction.
