| Posted by Guest Callala Bay Rural Fire Brigade What was someone thinking to do controlled burn near Callala Beach on a dry windy day as yesterday?? Been at a lot of burnoffs in Seymour, Victoria with the urban and rural brigades and always checked forecast and actual winds and secured the perimeter before applying the torch. Didn't someone think of that yesterday? What occured Friday verges on incomprehensible and a huge waste of resources with the real danger of property damage and possible loss of life. We are RFS supporters but what we saw hardly engenders confidence. |
