Garmin Drive 60 versus old cheapie Navig8r T50B

I just bought a Garmin Drive 60 to replace my old Navig8r T50B - and am really surprised at all the features that I have lost by "downgrading" to the Garmin.

The Navig8r can tell be in spoken English about speed cameras ... to get the Garmin to do that I had to get the help of this awesome GPS Data Team website and become a member and download a heap of files and figure out how to load them. Without this website - I would just get "bong bong".

The Navig8r speaks out the speed limit for me when I speed ("Check your speed - the speed limit is 70 km/hr") - the Garmin just bongs again (3 times this time) and I have to read what the speed limit is.

The Navig8r lets me decide when I want to be alerted about speeding (at the limit, 5% above, 10% above etc) - the Garmin lets me know at the limit only (1km/hr over and I get bonged).

The Navig8r shows me my next two moves as images on the top of the screen ... the Garmin just hows the next one.

The Navig8r knows which local streets are 50km/hr and displays that on screen - the Garmin shows nothing and seems unaware of all 50km/hr zones.

I realise that the Garmin has traffic capability, a larger 6" screen, and some more flexible display options - but I'm not sure that is enough when you consider what you lose when "upgrading" from a $60 Navig8r to a $280 Garmin.

Cheers,
Scott
