| Posted by PickyBiker Garmin nuvi 68LM problem with School Zones The Garmin nuvi 68LM has a loud audible alert when approaching a school zone. For some unknown reason, Garmin does not provide a way to turn it off. The first few times it went off, we thought it might be useful, but after hearing that alert hundreds of times, we desperately searched for a way to turn it off. Some devices do have a way to turn that off, but the Garmin nuvi 68LM does not. Garmin has so far been totally deaf to complaints about this. The only exception was a response from Garmin that indicated Garmin would take action if there were a large number of customer complaints. You would think that a company putting audible features into their devices would ALWAYS provide a way to turn that feature off. If there was a way to change the code in the Garmin nuvi 68LM myself, I would be eager to do it. So Garmin, I have years of experience programming, give me the tools and I will fix this for you...
