| Posted by something.else Garmin 2689LMT Custom POI's Hi I am trying to load "custom POI's" to my 2689LMT with only limited success. What I was trying to achieve was to load a bunch of POI's and have them appear on my map whilst i am navigating from point a to point B without using the "up-ahead" function. The up ahead function is limited to ONLY 3 categories. I am wanting to see for examle) Mcdonalds symbols near where i am driving with the M logo as well as my favorite Fuel Stations 3 different brands ? A bit frustrated. Regds blackbird |
| Posted by something.else Adding Custom POI's 2689LMT - Update Seems this does work to some extent. so to do this follow the usual process of creating the "GPS.GPI" file with POIloader. now you have 2 choices: Load On SD card or copy to device. 1. Load On SD card from PC & on SD card create directory n:\POI and copy the PGPI file here. 2. Insert SD card in 2689LMT ** It will then ask to copy over to the Nuvi so its available even if the SD card is removed. Dont copy over !! ! this never worked for me at all !! leave it on SD card and life is good. OR if you want to copy it over either do it from POILoader or copy it to the Nuvi while it is USB connected to your PC under the POI directory ! |
