Posted by nick3333 Garmin / BMW Navigator V Of the 6 or so garmin units I've had, this is the most sophisticated and intuitive of all. Designed for motorcycles, BMW even hafve a 'wheel' on the left handlebar grip so you can zoom in/out, select pages etc all without taking your hands off the bars. Awesome (except the price) |

Posted by nick3333 Removing unwanted icons from BMW Nav 5 I have one and love it, but I dont want all the restaurant icons on the screen all the time. Any idea on how to select which of the built in POIs it shows? Any idea on how to remove the restaurant icons from always showing up on screen? Great unit other than this frustration for me. |

Posted by Guest Choosing POI I have the same question. Is it possible to choose which POI are shown? |
||
Posted by Guest Garmin Navigator V I just got off the phone with Garmin and they said you cannot pick individual POIs that you want shown. Its either all or none. Seems odd. I can choose which ones I want shown on my cheep TomTom. FYI while on the phone I asked about the car kit (part# 77528544460) and it was $45.33. The dealer sells it for $147.95. |

Posted by rambler BMW Nav 5 issue - Acquiring satellites message Every night when I come home I see 'acquiring satellites' but then instead of the usual navigation a time signature comes on the top of the screen that seems to count down from 0012:60, and no road directions, and only main roads on otherwise black screen. During day it's okay. What the heck is going on? |

It's quite easy to remove unwanted icons from external sources (Custom POI). Just remove BMP files from the source CSV/GPX folder and recompile the POI Loader generated GPI file. It doesn't work with built-in POIs. Cheers |
