| Posted by Notsuredomus Garmin Oregon 550t SD Card issue I put my SD card into my GPS and the device does not recognize the card but if I plug my GPS into my PC windows detects the card fine. Anybody encounter this issue and know how to get it working? Also is there a max SD card size because no SD Card specifics were in the PDF document that came with my GPS. |

| Posted by willy_deneef Garmin Oregon 550t SD Card issue The Oregon software doesn't show (like windows does) the SD card. If the SD card is shown in Windows, you should be able to create a few folders on it. In the root create folder "Garmin" and within folder "Garmin" folders "CustomMaps", "GPX" and "userdata". Does Mapsource or Basecamp find the SD card? Send to device, select the removable media and transfer a waypoint a route or track. If this works your SD card is OK. I think the SD card should be formatted as "FAT32" before starting to use it. |
