Sync between MY85XLT and Samsung note

Each time I Bluetooth my GPS and phone, it works fine. I can receive and make calls. But when I get home and I turn off the unit to go inside the phone locks up and I need to do a cold cold boot (ie take battery out) in order to start phone.

Has anybody seen or hear of this before between the new smart phones and GPS's

Thanks
MY

Don't bother with an external GPS via bluetooth

Why bother with a bluetooth link to a GPS if you have a Samsung Note? Doesn't it already have a GPS built in? I accept the aerial may not be a good as a purpose built unit, but surely it is good enough? I have only had one lockup for any app in the last 6 months.

I have taken a GPS and Note to compare the accuracy of my track and both have problems in bush valley and going past large industrial buildings, under street awnings and other places that I cannot find a reason.

Although a GPS uses more power in the phone, Bluetooth does as well, so you may be better off getting a supplementary battery for you phone instead of taking a separate GPS. I got a nice little compact batteries for a few dollars for my previous phone, but haven't needed to use it on the Note yet because of the much larger battery. Another benefit of a 'phablet'.

I also use Maverick that allows offline use with cached maps (Open Street Map works for me) allows saving tracks, and all the navigation options that a custom unit includes. The only thing I have to do is put it in a waterproof bag if it is going to be wet.
