| Posted by glenwen The best GPS I have only had 2 types of GPS Garmin and Tom Tom Both have been quite functional as GPS devices and I like to option up my devices to make them more individual. Tom tom was and excellent device for this, but in the new Tom Tom are far less due to the constraints imposed by the requirement for using the web based system. For this reason I moved to Garmin, but to my chargrin, I find that Garmin is somewhat less than the old Tom Tom. I am still playing with my device, I hope my first impressions are wrong, and with help from the Brainiacs in this forum, I hope to get some understanding of the possibilities for personalisation of this instrument. Anyone who has any suggestions, I would appreciate and welcome help. Thanks. |

| Posted by glenwen Garmin Sounds for a start, The Garmin seems to have very limited sound capability to allow or vary sound editing. Perhaps Im mistaken. Need to learn more. The other is POI installation. I have tried and failed, I have elaborated on another post as to where and what I'm trying to achieve, but generally, just to have POIs and the ability to add or edit them without having to go through my computer. Is this at all possible other than favorites? |
