| Posted by glenwen How do I change sounds on a Garmin device I have just purchased a Garmin 2797 lmt The only sound available for alerts of the purchased speed camera warnings is a pathetic "Ding Ding" Can any of you brainiacs please tell me how I can change this to something more audible, I hate donating to the worthless government greed camera coffers, and a more audible warning would be great. I have already generated my own "no sound" for directions so that I don't have to listen to annoying voices, so I have some technical know how, but generally I am not savy to computer stuff. Please make the instructions simple. Thanks In advance |
| Posted by johmazz2006 Sound files The sound file has to be in .wav format and have the exact same name as the poi file you downloaded with the .wav extension. (It has to be in the same directory as the poi file) then load to the GPS using poi loader. |
| Posted by b.munse Poi warning I think the question was how to get rid of the damn "ding ding" and replace them with a acceptable voice like "red light camera ahead" If somebody now how to do that it would be nice to have that here in this section written down.
