| Posted by stevenbhnuvi Nuvi 1490 slow synch to satellites when in US I live in Canada and travel to NY and California frequently for business. When landing in LA, I turn on the GPS and it can often take between 30-45 mintues to acquire a satellite and display local info. Any solutions, shortcuts? Thanks. |

Maybe the Yanks are running a blocker so the scuds can't find the mark ? :lol: It shouldn't take that long to lock onto satellites after going to a new area from the last place you used it. Mine will normally take a minute or so extra when I move 1000 klms between shutdown and start up. A call to Garmin may get the right answer, as they are good with support. |

| Posted by kristaps LA Where at LAX do you turn the GPS on. You will not get a signal until you are outside from the buildings. I have been there and something bug the Garmin when in and close to the buildings. I started driving out of the airport and real soon got the signals. Sitting only takes longer. |
