| Posted by tboneandporcini Speed cameras where you live - UK only In the UK the official "partnerships" are trying to make the motorists aware of the camera locations (fixed and mobile cameras) in order to keep them alert in the accident spots, where the cameras are supposed to be placed. This intent is clearly better than the situation in many other countries, where the drivers' intelligence is taken out of the equation. I suggest everyone who comes to this site try to use the official data to find all danger spots along their routes. Once found, these can be rendered as POI in our free database. To find the web sites in question is actually very easy. Just type "safety camera partnership" followed with the county name. PS: There is no doubt this forum is monitored by the partnerships. Why don't they contribute to this thread, creating a full list of their web sites? |
| Posted by tboneandporcini Check your area for hazards! I am serious, guys. Why don't you check the maps of the cameras in the vicinity of where you live and update our database? It's the only way of keeping the database alive! Many systems come with camera POI installed. So, focus on the mobile stuff - they are the most dangerous. Also, watch for small white markers on the tarmac - they are usually located in half a mile of the laser gun trap. The same is with the coil-shaped repair marks - they are the buried sensors. |
