| Posted by sleepysilvertcb How do i delete pre installed camera data Hi, Ive got a Garmin 1695, and ive just downloaded to my hard drive the latest UK road safety camera file. Ive used POI loader before, but, before i install the file to my satnav, how do i delete the ones already on my satnav that came with it? Im guessing, that if i dont delete them, ill double up on the cameras and use loads of memory and slow down the sat navs responses whilst its in use. |
| Posted by bernienchris Just delete the .gpi files Using Windows explorer, open up the files on your Nuvi. You need to get to the 'Garmin/POI' folder. Here you will find .gpi Files, there may be more than 1, this is where both your custom POI's and also the pre-installed ones are. If you are going to load all new POI's, then just delete the .gpi files altogether. Keep in mind though that this deletes all pre-installed POI's, you can't just delete the camera files alone. For me, I would keep the pre-installed ones if they are not too far out of date. Hope this helps. Cheers, |
