Basically, you just click your way through to the appropriate category (where you download things), then scroll down and press "add poi". The difficulty is that the poi adding and editing software is not overly friendly or reliable. You will need to find the poi location on the map, add a description, then click "submit", them edit your submission because your point will jump away by a hundred meters and will need to be returned back. Look in the database for examples of poi description. Include the speed limit into the description (e.g. @60), the type of camera, then put a hyphen (-) and add address after it. A simple example of address is the road code and the postcode (Google for it). Please note, I am doing this the first day - a better advice you may get from Support people. They will be editing your poi anyway. Try doing just one point first to avoid embarrassment... It will appear in the download files after a few hours. Kindest regards and the best of luck! | Posted by tboneandporcini How to add POI to the data base Correction, apparently the new POI appear in the downloads straight away. I am not sure if it is the same when one edits the same point submitting it many times over a short period. I struggled with a couple of points once, but they are good now. Another thing to remember is a slight mismatch in the coordinates between the Google maps used in this web site and Navtech maps used in many GPS systems. It looks like the coordinates are converted to match the target platform when click download. |
