| Posted by wf34dx Please help with Garmin Nuvi 205 I have a Nuvi 205 (NOT 'W'), and I have tried to update the speed camera alerts from this site. I can not got them to work? I can not see them on the map (when driving or not) and I can not see them in the 'Extras' folder on the machine. Can someone PLEASE help me explain what format I need to download the database in (gpx, csv, poi?), and where on the on the Nuvi 205 does it go? I have tried all sorts of combinations but no luck, I AM using poiloader. Help PLEEEEZE!!! Steve |

Hi Steve, how and where are you loading the POI's from. You need the poi's in a directory with POI loader in the same directory for them to load. Not sure about your model, but they don't show on the gps until you are within the range set, when you load them. You files needed are the speed poi in either .csv or .gpx Sound in .wav or .mp3 Display in .bmp Again, all files need to be in the same directory with poi loader as the POI Loader program formats all those files into one file called POI.gpi, then loads that to the GPS unit. You will have to experiment with the .mp3 and .wav plus the .csv and .gpx files to find out which ones apply to your GPS model. Once you find the correct format, write it down to save trying to remember next time you update.. |
