Navman GPS not connecting to Windows 7 32bit

I have just brought a Navman 75T and it connects for updates to may laptop running Vista, but not the Window 7 desktop, but just to confuse things it will in safe mode but the software did not run, anybody have any idea what may be blocking it.
I do not want to go through the pain of re-installing win 7 if there is a problem with it...

Navdesk

Hi kangy,

Can you check if you are running Acronis or any other similar imaging software? This can sometimes interfere with NavDesk on Windows 7.
Acronis is a software that makes computer backup, disaster recovery, bare-metal restore, system deployment, and storage management products for Windows.

Kind Regards,
Navman Support

problem fixed

the problem has been fixed in the last update, I am not sure what was blocking it, I did install win7 on another hard disk and it was working with nothing installed so was going to transfer everything across. But I still do not know what was actually blocking it.

Navman Never Again

I have just brought myself a Garmin and it is wonderful, I now get sent down the right roads there is no lag in the map update or connection problems, there is something seriously wrong with Navman software. There is one or two points that could be improved with the Garmin, there are not many sound options for alerts and the one shining point of the Navman was that school zone alert would only do it thing during the correct hours.

The Navman was so poor that the I would not on sell it or give it to anybody, I am going to do a YouTube production of its destruction and pass that around.

My Navman

I was given as a gift a Navman and told that it has a lifetime maps update (which was the only reason I accepted). I have a TomTom and that was wonderful except that the maps updates were expensive. In my opinion, Tomtom admin should have some intelligence to make the updates free and automatic, which makes it very attractive to people to buy. (but we are talking about bean counters, if they had brains they would get a real job). Navman is a underdog from any angle you look at it. Especially the sound that feels like hearing a Drunk Robot, and not much choice of sounds, and the map colors are unusual, which makes it hard to see in a daylight, the software is also too complicated, which it should be easy. For any decent person can not sell it: give it to your worst enemy. It makes a good target for jokes though.

Win 7 64 bit and updates

Yes I bought 2 Navmans, a MY75XLT (which was sold with another car) and a MY90XLT.
Some time ago I tried to update the software and maps for the MY90 and had great trouble getting it to show in the Navdesk 7.5 software. It finally did after much swearing and calling Navmans parentage into question.
I eventually managed to download some maps. However when I finished I found that my MY90XLT had somehow become MY75XLT ! and I have not been able to change that.
Today I go to upgrade my maps and neither the computer Win 7 64bit or Navdesk 7.5 will see the machine.
I originally bought these because, being a Kiwi and these things orinally made there, I was being patriotic.
Well so much for that. They seem to go OK but with all the update and software trouble I have had I can only say that they are far below my expectations!
Sounds like the support is too!
