| Posted by Guest Garmin 680 firmware upgrade Newbie here. I have had a Nuvi 680 for many years that I really like. However, I would like to know if I can upgrade the firmware or operating system so that lane assist and travel speed will show on the screen like they do on newer models? |
| Posted by sgordon999 no I did a little searching and nothing like that seems to exist. Garmin probably would like to see folks buy a new unit every few years. So my guess is that even if the older units could do new tricks with a firmware update, Garmin would not write such updates as it might slow the sales of new units. In my googling, I did not come across any other sources of firmware for Garmin units except for Garmin. (unlike the routers that have 3rd party firmware that turns them into superrouters.) |
