| Posted by franzenel 1490LMT Speed Camera not working very detailed OK this is my first GPS unit and I have a couple of questions. 1. I download 3 files from all USA speed cameras Camera-US.WAV Camera-US.BMP Camera-us.GPX (Prox...) 300M I will be traveling across the USA so I need a lot of states so that is why I picked US instead of a state I have one camera in my area and it didn't work today on my way to work. but i didn't have the Prox version of the file loaded i had the standard GPX files loaded. is this why? I now have the other one loaded. I have tried to test it out in Simulation mode but because Simulation will not go over the speed limit is this why it will not alarm either? I did add the SOX.exe to my garmin folder and it did convert correctly so I think i have done everything correctly. let me know Thanks. one last thing the speed camera that I have near me is directional and it is pointed in the wrong direction for simulation so that might be the problem too. just trying to give you all the info you need so you to get me a correct answer. | Posted by johmazz2006 Speed alert The camera may not be in the database yet. They take a long time to be updated, as the locations are not supplied by the authorities. A lot of the locations are given by motorists when they see them installed. |
| Posted by franzenel Working great I found the camera in the speed section but not the everything section I do believe. Everything tested good. Worked in simulation mode and on the road. Just have to use the wav, GPX (regular) and the BMP file. Thanks |
