| Posted by mattyvas Garmin Basecamp Hi wise users, I have a new to me Zumo 550 which is great and works fine on my bike but I am having trouble using Basecamp software with my Mac to get maps/gpx files onto the device. I see it on the left side of the screen and maps say they have loaded, I see that they have done so on the device but once it is ejected and turned back on no data appears! I do the same thing via an SD card with the same result. The unit recently went back to Garmin to have the latest maps loaded as there was some glitch in it being done in the usual manner. Is there something I am missing in the process? Thanks wise GPS users. Matty... |
| Posted by apeel Use POILoader and MapInstall on Macintosh OS X I just joined this forum, so I realize this message is old, but I just saw it and noticed nobody replied. Perhaps this is too late to be helpful but ... If you want to load POIs onto your Garmin GPS using a Macintosh, you should use the 'POILoader' application, available from the Garmin Web site. they have a special section which lists the software available for the Mac OS X. To install maps onto the device, you should use the application 'MapInstall' also available for the Mac at the Garmin web site. |
