Garmin Vs TomTom

I have been a dedicated TomTom user for the past 5 years and won a Garmin 1450T in a work raffle. My question is should I stick with my TomTom or give the Garmin a try?

If you won it, why not try it and see what is better or worse between the 2 brands, and then you have the correct answers to the benefits of one over the other, and can give informed info to others that may ask questions in this regard.

TomTom Vs Garmin

Thanks for that I'm in the process of loading POI's to the Garmin and the first thing I have discovered is that it seems easier to locate a POi on the Garmin than the TomTom.
I will keep you posted om other differences as I find them
Once again, thanks for the advice

I will not be upset when my current Garmin dies. Too much time lost in a never ending recalculating routine for me.
Yes that is a annoying problem for any GARMIN user. My 1490T is just as bad but I have just learnt to put up with it ..Maybe if GARMIN silenced the recalculating software and just keep navigating like the car inbuilt aggravation systems it would be a lot more comfortable driving.

I have a TT Go730T and a Garmin Zumo 660, which do I prefer?

The TT map quality is slightly better than Garmin and I can change far more settings on the TT, plus there are more 3rd party add-ons.

The Garmin communicates with A2DP devices, whilst the TT does not (TT only supports A2DP in the Rider version). The battery in the Garmin is easily removed and lasts longer without charging.

Both are easily manageable with non genuine maps and operating systems, but TT is easier to do.
Both can do itinerary planning with Google earth, but the Garmin is easier to do.

I could go on and on with the pros and cons of both, but at the end of the day, its what suits your needs. In the car I prefer TT, on my motorbike I prefer Garmin, so I have both.

Garmin is the best

I've used both with the first being a Tom tom Go, then Nuvi 660 widescreen, and a Garmin Nuvi 1390. Garmin is much better although both have flaws, meaning software freezes, and maps are not quite accurate.
I was told maps are done 2 yrs in advance so it's not anyways accurate even though you update. How true is this I don't know.
I know my brand new model tried to take me down a one way bus lane..
lol u cant win em all
