| Posted by steve.seymour Updates They seem pretty good in terms of new cameras, it's deleting the old ones etc and speed changes they can be a bit behind on (as are many databases - often have to delete SPECs for motorway roadworks - same was true on my lifetime subscription for my inforad detector - felt I was the only person ever reporting deleted cameras). Just written some software to load up all the files and detect duplicates of different types and speeds - compared the results some of these against another sc database and have updated quite a few myself this week (about a dozen in the 40 file where showing up on the all in one as 30s and all but one checked on on another db). So made my software chose the lower speed and drop the higher ones of any duplicate then generate my own files for loading onto my Garmin. May share this after making it a little more confiurable (also outputs seperate files, for fixed, RLC and mobile for each speed range, so you can have different wav files for each telling you the speed to save you looking at the sat nav). |

Another question is how frequently the existing cameras are checked... They are generally installed in the accident black spots, so they are not removed frequently. |

Yes, in the UK the camera locations are officially published. I also tried the fixed camera database. It looks OK, but not better, compared to the cameras included with Copilot Live Premium. |
