| Posted by DelmerH Obtaining and using POIs I have been reading the posts in this forum and am at a complete loss as to how I can obtain and use POIs in my Garmin Nuvi 500. Every time I think I may be getting somewhere I find a reference to a free POI Loader. Every time I click on the link I arrive at a Garmin site for marine maps. I sent Garmin an email concerning this problem and the response indicated that POI Loader was only good for businesses (apparently to upload their point to the web). I have attempted to just go ahead and click on a link to save a POI to my GPS but all I receive is an excel file with two columns containing numbers. What do I do with that? |

Have a look at the second topic in this forum "Garmin POIs for Newbies": http://poidirectory.com/forum/topic/3418.html That tells you what you need to do and points you to where you can download the "POI Loader" software. It should tell you all you need to know to get yourself started. |
