Posted by julie.kilner Screen protector? I put a screen protector on my Garmin Nuvi 260W and found that it was a huge mistake. The key pad was less sensitive and less accurate. When I did try and press on keys and type stuff the GPS would choose the wrong thing...so I would type an "S" for example and end up with a "T". It was just so frustrating. Avoid it. Get a case for it and store it properly when not in use. Mine is scratched slightly now after 2/3 years of solid use...and it got scratched only because it spends time on the floor of my car. J |

Well i would say it depends. I have place a screensaver in rns510 radio + gps and the touch screen is not affected at all, plus the dvd playback seems much better now with the new added protection since the glossy looks really makes the video pop.. So i would say it really depends on your device, in my case i only saw a beneficial effect. |

Posted by asimderby Re: Screen protector? If you have genuine sat nav, its screen is already very strong and most of them are scratch proof. so if you put screen protector it will make it less sensitive. so try to avoid it. |

+1 If you have an expensive in car SatNav I would recommend screen protector. It will run you $9-$15 at most and can save few hundred down the road. |
