| Posted by trevor33 FM Trafffic I would be interested to hear your experiences with FM Traffic option on the Garmin units. A few months ago I purchased a Nuvi 1390T, I had been using a Navman for several years and quite liked this however being unable to enter map coordinates was a major disadvantage. I also have an etrex Vista CX which I use for Geocaching and bush walking and as I was more than satisfied with the performance of this I bought the 1390T. I am reasonably happy with this unit althought it's interesting to note that the etrex will usually pick a different (better?) route than the 1390. However my main complaint is the FM Traffic, this unit came with a lifetime subscription which is just as well as you would not want to pay for it ! From time to time it will alert me to traffic situations, however they have usually cleared by the time I arrive at that location. On my daily drive to work there has been major road works causing quite long delays for the past few months, however these are never reported. I don't know if the issue is with the Garmin of the service provider. I would also be interested to hear how the data for these traffic alerts is collected. Cheers |
